SMALLPOX UNDER CONTROL Vaccination Continues; Cooperation of Public Is Urged by Members of Health Department Here. Rigid quarantine of influenza cases was established in Adrian yesterday by the board of health, and the same regulations now apply to those homes in which there is influenza as to those in which there are cases of smallpox. Official notice from the state board of health had not arrived when Commissioner L. L. Knowles notified the city clerk that quarantine should be extended to cover the influenza cases. Commissioner Knowles himself is ill at his home and his residence was among the first to be placarded with the forbidding red signs. The number of new cases reported by the city clerk today indicated that there has been little change in the local situation since Wednesday. Four- teen cases of influenza and three cases of smallpox were reported during the 24 hours ending at noon today. The smallpox epidemic is apparently under control as the new cases have diminished in number during the past week. Vaccination is continuing steadily but it is still impossible, the doctors say, to estimate just what percentage of the city's population has been vaccinated.
